Dr. Joey and Carla Ellis have been the Lead Pastors of Stone Edge Church since January 2016.

Before coming to Stone Edge, they served as missionaries in India where they focused on planting churches, developing leaders, and rescuing exploited women and children. In addition, Joey served as the Vice President of Global Operations for Global University, Springfield, MO, overseeing 200 offices in over 150 countries around the world. Their experience in missions has given them a great passion for empowering and equipping the body of Christ to reach out to the world both locally and abroad.

Prior to being missionaries, Joey and Carla served as associate pastors for thirteen years. They were blessed to be part of the pastoral team at Christian Renewal Church in Hilton Head, SC, Evangel Temple in Columbus, GA, and Faith Assembly in Orlando, FL. In addition to pastoral ministry, they served for three years at the Assemblies of God National Leadership Resource Center, Springfield, MO, promoting missions awareness and training leaders to reach young families and their children.

Joey and Carla have been married since July 1989. They have two adult children, Jerrod and Caroline, who are happily married. Family is very important to Joey and Carla. They believe in building strong ministries for both youth and children at Stone Edge Church.

Joey graduated from Southeastern University in 1989 with a B.A. in Bible and Systematic Theology and received an M.A. in Christian Ministries in 2012 from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS). In May 2023, he graduated with a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from AGTS. Carla graduated from Southeastern University in 1988 with a B.A. in Education and she received an M.Ed. in 2003 from Drury University.

Joey and Carla are passionate about people embracing a relationship with Jesus and becoming devoted followers of Christ. They believe that the Church has been uniquely empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach all people, locally and globally, with the message of salvation.
