Maybe you prayed a prayer during a church service. Maybe someone invited you to church and something clicked. Maybe you’ve been running from God for years and finally decided it was time to come home. Whatever brought you here, one thing is true: following Jesus isn’t the finish line. It’s the starting line.
Giving your life to Christ is the most important decision you’ll ever make — and it’s also the beginning of a lifelong journey of growth, transformation, and discovering who God created you to be. So what happens now?
Understand What Just Happened
When you placed your faith in Jesus, God didn’t simply improve your life. He made you new.
"If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
2 Corinthians 5:17Your mistakes no longer define you. Your past no longer controls you. Your failures no longer have the final word. Through Jesus, you’ve been forgiven, adopted into God’s family, and given a new identity. You may not feel different overnight, but God has already started a work in your life that will continue for years to come.
Start Talking to God
Every healthy relationship grows through communication — and the same is true with God. Prayer isn’t about saying perfect words or using religious language. Prayer is simply talking with God. Tell Him what you’re thankful for, what you’re worried about, what you’re struggling with, and what you’re hoping for. God already knows your thoughts, but He still wants your heart.
Let’s help you keep going.
Whether you’re ready for baptism, Growth Track, or a Connect Group, we’d love to walk with you.
Plan Your Visit →Begin Reading the Bible
If prayer is how we talk to God, the Bible is one of the primary ways God speaks to us. It helps us understand who God is, how much He loves us, what Jesus taught, and how to live with purpose. If you’re brand new to reading Scripture, start with one of the Gospels:
- John
- Mark
- Luke
- Matthew
These books tell the story of Jesus and help build a strong foundation for your faith. Don’t worry about understanding everything at once — just start. Consistency matters more than perfection.
Get Baptized
One of the first steps Jesus asks His followers to take is baptism. Baptism is a public declaration of your faith — an outward expression of an inward transformation. When you’re baptized, you’re telling the world, "I have decided to follow Jesus." Baptism doesn’t save you; Jesus saves you. But baptism is a powerful act of obedience that marks the beginning of your new life in Christ.
Find Your People
Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey. God designed us for community. You need people who will encourage you, pray for you, challenge you, and support you. This is why church matters. This is why Connect Groups matter. Growth happens faster when we walk with others — you don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
Jesus doesn’t ask you to have everything figured out. He simply asks you to follow Him.

Sometimes people feel pressure to become a perfect Christian overnight. That’s not how growth works. God isn’t asking for perfection — He’s inviting you into progress. One step at a time. One day at a time. As you continue following Jesus, you’ll discover that He isn’t simply changing what you do. He’s changing who you are.
